Vox Hunt: Cell Phone (Once & Future)

Currently, I use a Treo 680 and love it - though it does have some drawbacks. I'd kill for 3G or Wifi on it, and sometimes the Palm OS can be a little sluggish.
Problems aside, it contains all my contacts, my diary, as well as lots of handy little applications (such as Google Maps), making it more like a swiss army knife than a phone.
Obviously, I'm hugely interested in the iPhone, but want to see how it's received in the US before shelling out a ton of cash for one. Also, I've no idea which provider Apple are teaming up with in the UK/EU. More of a wait-and-see at the moment.
